“A woman like you should have had a momma who loved her. A daddy who adored her. Friends who thought the world of her. She should have grown up every day knowing that straight to her soul, never doubting it, not for a second.”
“You know every step of your life was leading you right here. You’re the woman for me, which means, darling, I’m the man for you. And you didn’t tell me to leave because you know that just the same as me.” “Now you’re bein’ cocky, which isn’t real attractive, honey bunch.”
If you click most read author on my Goodreads account – it is indeed Kristen Ashley.
The reason for this is because I can ALWAYS identify with something in her characters. Like some of my other #slbfavauthor, Kristen Ashley writes characters I either want to be friends with in real life or could be someone I’m friends with in real life. They’re not millionaires or written as the perfect Ken and Barbie. They’re real. They’ve faced adversity and overcome hard shit that happens to real people.
I have been waiting for a Daisy and Marcus book for what feels like forever, and I was not disappointed. I loved Daisy’s grit and determination to get herself into a better situation. Marcus amazed me and there were some funny parts and some parts that made me cry, but when I finally figured out why they lived in the house they did, I lost it.
Amazing book by an amazing author.
